There are several kinds of go karts on the market, including some for kids. Ones for kids are generally smaller with more protective siding. One available child’s go kart has a 50cc engine and bench style seats to hold two riders. Others available have higher engine capacity, and some are completely electrically powered with batteries behind them. Price does not dictate the quality of the go kart and parents will be pleased that the cost is worth the hours of fun that your child will have.
You can find a 50cc go kart from Extreme Motor Sales for about nine hundred dollars. This is a small go kart that actually seats two, with bench seats. It’s chassis has protective guard to it and a seat belt for extra safety. The brakes are foot operated and the engine can give you speeds as much as 26 miles per hour. It also holds up to two hundred and twenty pounds, so you can carry your child and on of their friends. With a two liter fuel capacity, these go karts will provide hours of fun. Of course, there are bigger engines. You can find children’s go karts that have 110cc engines that go up to 35 miles per hour. The Kazuma Coyote has a fully automatic transmission and rear disc brakes, so safety isn’t a problem here.
Electric go karts are just as easy to find. The ScooterX company puts out the Electric PowerKart. This kart runs off of a 36V 500 watt battery. The scooter is a green machine, needing eight hours to recharge between uses and not leaving a carbon foot print. The charge will last for about an hour. As far as speed, it gets about 18 miles an hour, and seats one rider, but holds the capacity for the weight of an adult. This is an excellent all around item for the whole family. Another good electric go kart to look at is the Razor Ground Force. This one has a bench seat for one or two riders also, but has a lower weight capacity and lighter frame as well as running off of twelve volt batteries.
While searching for a go kart for your child, you want to consider some things. First, how much weight will the kart hold? How fast is it going to go? Are there safety belts? What about the price? All of these questions are things to consider when you are looking for a child’s go kart to purchase. Remember that brand names are not necessarily best, and also don’t forget that you can buy a kit to build a child’s go kart yourself and order parts and accessories separately. These kits are about the same price as an assembled machine, and are a fun project for anyone in the family interested in automotives.
The best ones on the market are not judged by price, so take someone with you who knows what they are looking when you are purchasing a Go Karts for your child. Inquire about engine capacity and safety features as well as seating limits and charge time or fuel capacity.
